The AWA Foundation (AWAF) was established to promote gender equality through providing underprivileged women and girl children with opportunities, education, mentorship and training. The AWAF’s scope is continental and aims to launch duplicate activities in each African country simultaneous to the prestigious annual African Women Awards ceremonies, which will be held in a different African country each year..

RAISING A BUILDING FUND

RAISING A BUILDING FUND

We are currently working on building funds for Wings of Grace Orphanage. This orphanage houses the girls we have sponsored to school this year and they look after over 19 children in a two roomed house in Mufakose, Zimbabwe. They have acquired land that we are helping to raise funds to build on. This falls under our core activity; ‘Access to Infrastructure’.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

We are working with a group of young women in the rural area of Nyamapanda on getting their product on to the market. This falls under our core activity, ‘Access to Opportunities’.
